WeatherMAX 80 Pop-Up Top

WeatherMAX80 Car Pop-up Top

One of our caravan clients, ADP Caravan Services in Victoria, came up with a great use for WeatherMAX 80. Recently, a couple brought an ex-rental motorhome to ADP for a revamp on an upcoming Australiasian to Europe tour. Part of the job spec was to raise the roof for maximum living space.

The new poptop skirt has been constructed using WeatherMax 80 Captain Navy. As Fergus of ADP states:

“We chose Weathermax because of a number of design criteria. The fit of the roof is quite tight when it is stowed away, so the material has to have limited bulk to fit in the stowed position. But in the deployed position the material has to be able to withstand rough weather. Additionally Weathermax 80 is durable, breathable, water proof, and not prone to rot like the original canvas skirt was. There are not many options that satisfy all these criteria. Before converting over to Weathermax for these sorts of projects, we used to use PU coated nylon, but we have had trouble in the past with the PU coating delaminating from the nylon, and once this happens the fabric has lost all waterproofing properties.

The clients were very happy with the new poptop. They thought it looked great and worked really well.”

We have developed a unique design of the drum which consists of concave surfaces that provide an extraordinary grip. You can have fewer turns on the drum thus reducing the risk of an override, which in turn allows the line to be released quickly in light or heavy air. A large step towards more efficient and...
